Found a quieter beach, then watched the sun set from the town walls before a scrummy dinner. Spot the couple in the background who posed like that for about 5mins while they had their photo taken.
We didn't realise just how hot it had been until the evening but Tuesday was hot, hot, hot - up to 40. Wandered round the old town, sunbathed for the odd five minutes before having to run (hop across the hot sand) into the sea to cool off!
A day of fun! Profiteroles for lunch with Alice and Sara then joined Cath and Lucy Day for a super-informative tour of St George's Hall. The things I could tell you...... One of which was that Conan Doyle first read aloud The Hound of the Baskervilles from this small concert room with his own dog beside him. Dickens was also a frequent visitor.
Today marks the start of two weeks of holiday. Phew. To commemorate my odd week at work here is a bike I helped make out of straws. The second picture is the Port of Liverpool building looking rather snazzy - lit up all to music. Excellent spontaneous outing with Cath, Alice and Emily.
I thought this fella deserved a posting - there are about 6 of these statues near a roundabout in between Preston mail centre and the M6 that I've passed every day this week. No idea what they are but today I decided to park the car up and take a piccie of them.
Easyish day at work - on a training course in Preston (all week....) so decided to cook some nice food for tea. Leek risotto with pan-fried cod and prosciutto - yum!
Not a day with many highlights - work, cleaning etc. So instead I'm focusing on tomorrow - day 1 of the fourth test - will Freddie be fit to go and PLEASE lets beat the Aussie's again so we don't have to worry too much for the final test!
